Job Listing for Spring Maker (NOC: 9516)
The specialization of Spring Making is a skilled mechanical activity and recognized as such around the world. OmniCoil Spring Works is proactively seeking to add 2-3 Spring Makers to join the team.
Responsibilities
Key Abilities for Automatic Spring Maker Set-Up and Operator:
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
· Ability to read calipers, verniers, micrometers
· Ability to handle large diameter spring wire (up to .625”)
· Ability to handle large coils of spring wire (up to 4000 lbs.)
· Working knowledge of mechanical spring coilers
· Ability to select gears and cams to make a variety of spring types (compression, extension, torsion, conical, barrel)
· Ability to fabricate tooling (e.g. arbors, cutters, pitch tools) using surface grinders and other hand tools
· Basic understanding of CNC programming
· Mathematically inclined
· Mechanically inclined
· Basic machining skills; ability to use engine lathe, surface grinder, etc.
· Knowledge of the fundamentals of stress relieving spring steel
Qualifications
Key qualification/education/experience for the additional Spring Makers:
Certificate / Vocational Qualification/s in Machining or Spring Making or equivalent transferable qualifications
Continued training in spring manufacturing processes and methods or equivalent transferable and related knowledge/training
Experience in mentoring and developing junior operators
Ideally possesses experience in manual and automated spring manufacturing methods
Position Remuneration Package
The positions are Full time working straight days
Regular pay raises awarded based on performance and new skills learned and applied
Working hours; 40 hrs per week with optional overtime
Safety footwear and tool allowance provided
